Dear Gupta Sir,
I want to build a room on the roof of my house. The area would be 350sq. ft. I can't spend to much money right now, I am planning construct the entire floor (about 1000 sq ft.) after 5-6 years.
Since I am on a tight budget I want to know about the least expensive ceiling option. After going through I am thinking of steel roof with false ceiling.
Please guide if there is better and less expensive option. I live in delhi so heat in summer and rain noise could be a problem. Also please give me an idea about the cost.

            In my opinion do not go for steel ceiling, it will not save any cost. Have option of RCC roof in mind and go ahead for construction.

Few contaractorws i have been talking to have suggested me to go for Tukdi(Red stone on iron beams covered with concrete). Do you thing thats a better option than RCC if i am planning to cover the entire area after 5-6 years. They have also suggetsed that the Extending an RCC lentil is not a very good option.(according to one  of the contarctor the Lentil weakens and the chance of leakage are also high.

           If you want temporary roof than use IRON T or channel and red stone or rough kota stone in roof. When you want to change than it is easy to dismantle the roof and it will give some money back in re-sail. Do not use cement concrete to cover iron beam which will later on difficult to dismantle.
