I am facing a problem in my newly constructed 2BHK tenament. It was built about two and half year back. Recently I found cracks are developing in the corner lines between walls of living room. The crack is spread from corner of the wall to the half length of the corner line. Corner line is the line where walls meet.
I am worried due to this cracks developing in my new home. WIll this affect the strength of my home.
I need your help for how to correct this problem?RegardsMunjal Shah
Dear Munjal,
There is not much of a worry if the cracks are small in nature. It depends on the quality of soil in the area you live. It is more prominant at places where there is black cotton soil. It can be due to inferior skill of the contractor but not much of a concern. Dear Manjul it is advisable to just peal off the clusters on the surface, widen the cracks with patti used to fill putti on the walls. Now fill epoxy based putty in the gap and leave overnight for it to settle. Now your wall is ready for a repaint.
