Ferrocement panel as flat roof ( mezzanine floor)

I haven't heard of Stressed Skin Construction.

I originally intended to build flat RCC roof of 4inch thick.

But to reduce concrete , i thought of laying ferrocement panels of less thickness ( around 1 inch). This will help in material cost as well as construction cost. No shuttering/curing required. Just build sufficient beaming and lay the panels on that and then seal it with mortar.

There will be truss roof above the flat RCC, so i am not much worries about leakage issues.

ferrocement panel of 1-1.5 inch thick, 6ftx4ft panels can be laid, i think.

According to me below advantages compared to RCC roof,

(1) less material cost

(2) easy and less cost for construction

(3) No plastering required on RCC roof. can be direcl

(4) Secured and safe inside

My concerns are ,

(1) Is there any cost advantages over RCC roof ?

(2) Will it be strong enough even if a room is constructed in 1st floor ?

I have never used ferrocement and all above thoughts are based on what i read over internet.

In kerala, construction is nowadays very costly.

Thanks for the advice. I shall consult it with my architect.

My concern with Bison panel is that it is a recent product and not seen around much.

Also it is not re-enforced with metal - like a ferrocement panel ( which is getting popular here).

But it looks like it is good.

A flat roof with panel-roof arrangement is pretty easy i guess. I dont need much terrace space as i have enough land.
