|  Topic: Floor Tile Area difference
Dear Sir, I would appreciate if any one could answer my question, please! I agreed with my contractor for the floor tile price at 2x2 @ Rs.50 on the whole contractor price. If I (client) choose different tile and if the tile cost is differ, my contractor agreed to offset the price in the whole contract price. Now, I have choosen different tile and he told me the price is Rs.85. Now, the difference is Rs.35. He told me i have to pay 1285 sq.ft x Rs.35. But I thought the number of tiles (i.e.85nos x Rs.35) and not by sq. ft as he calculate. He said thats what everyone does. Is he right? |

From your question I under stand that
You and your contractor has agreed for tiles costing @ Rs 50-00 per sft. now you choose the tiles costing @ Rs 85-00 per sft. Now you should pay for the area of tiles which are to be laid in the floor with costly tiles irrespective of the size of tiles. | | |

Price of tile implemented at site. For example is Rs. 50 per SFT Out of this, tile would be Rs. 40 per SFT and Rs. 10 would be labor and implementation material. Once this is settled and you choose to put tiles that are sold in the market for Rs. 60 per SFT then you would have to pay additional Rs. 20 per SFT so the total implementation would now cost Rs. 60 + Rs. 10 which w | | |
