 Topic: Getting the building plan sanctioned after khata
The ground floor of the house when constructed was in my grandfather's name. Now that he passed away, the khata was transferred to my father's name, but as per the lawyer, the receipt had to be in my grandfather's name. The lawyer now says that it is only after we make the next property tax payment in my fathers name, that the property will completely be ours, and only then we can go ahead with the plan sanction. That would happen only in June/July, but we want to start constructing the first and second floor as soon as possible.

Is it really such a tricky business to get a plan sanction? Will the govt officials really cause problems unless we pay the property tax in my fathers name (all past property taxes have been paid on time)?

A friend says that the contractor can get everything done quickly, but dad is a bit hesitant because of what the lawyer said. Is there really a reason to be so careful? Why?

hello..! Nav,  Kindly apply for Name Transfer of the Property owned by your father to the Municipal corporation attached with Death Cirtificate of grand father,and aftre getting it Submit application for sanction of map with Tax receipts of previous and running year,I hope it will solve your problem..some times it is difficult to sanction a map in absence of required documents....regards.
