When we are not using the water, some heat will be lost due to environment and level or quality of insulation. This means more electricity or gas is used to reheat the water; which will be costly, unnecessary, misuse of energy sources.
An alternative arrangement for hot water storage tank is the tank less water heater. It supplies hot water on demand. Key component of this system is heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is powered by traditional energy sources like electricity or gas. But it is only activated when hot water is needed. So this method is economical. As per your query, you are living in the house during vacation. It will be better to use tank less water heater. For supply of water to the tank less water heater you should provide polythene storage tank with capacity of 2000 liters. Polythene storage tanks are most economical, light in weight, stronger, easy to handle and install. They are impact resistance and no need for special bedding or foundation.
