I am planning to construct a house with ground plus two floors. probably 16 pillers may be required for it. can any one plz suggest me dia of steel bars required for me

If you want more detail then please send your plan or state in which are you want to place 16 pillars than one can be able to tell the no. send dia of the MS steel bars. Venkataswamy Chinthalapudi Join date: Oct 2008	Post subject: Dear FURQAN Dia of bar depends on spacing of columns, span of beams and slabs etc. For G+2 residential building with 3m to 4.5m span, you can use 3nos 12mm dia each shoter face and 2nos 12mm dia in between on longer face = 3x2 +2x2 = 10 in each column with 100mm bar to bar spacing. column size 230x375mm with 25mm cover. If you want to reduce column size, use 16mm dia with 75mm spacing but steel quantity will increase two fold. Ofcourse you can't narrow the columns too much due to structural constraints.
