 Topic: Large room without pillars in middle
Hi All,

Appreciate the fantastic information provided by GharExpert.  I wanted to know if an Room of 26Feet x 26Feet can be constructed without a pillar in the centre.  There are 8 pillars at North, Northeast, Northwest, East, Southeast, South, Southwest and West respectively. Each of the Pillars are dimensioned 30cms x 45cms.

Ideally, how many beams need to be used and what are the dimensions required ?

What would be the pros and cons of planning such structure?

             It is better if you take the proper design from any structural engineer. You can lay either 2 or 1 beam according to column/ pillar position.Send the plan showing column in wall for taking load of beam.
