 Topic: Leakage question.There is leakage in the floor below my bathroom. From the apart
Leakage question.There is leakage in the floor below my bathroom. From the apartment below, I can see water droplets in a small patch (area 2ftx2ft)I believe water is seeping through the cracks in the tile. I got grouting done but still problem not solved.We called a civil engg and contractor, who suggested that he will fix it by putting some liquid sealant between the tiles.Cost he is quoting is Rs10000/-I have few questions:* Is this a correct way to fix this and a long term solution?* What liquid sealant he is putting? * Is the cost correct?

        There are two types of leakage. One in pipes and seat etc joints and other is leakage from floor. If you have alternate bathroom than do not use this bath room and watch that there is leakage in joints are not. Then proceeds for treatment.

    Thank you for the prompt response.
    We had done as per your suggestion by making sure none of the pipes and drainage is used. The leakage is through the tile.
     Please advise whether the contractor's liquid sealant option is viable? Is the costing correct?

        In my view the cost demanded by the contractor is very much on hire side. You can lay new floor in this budget. As about chemical so there are many product.
In my view hire good mason who working for tile laying and grout the floor with white cement which will fill in the joints due proper curing and also treat all corner i.e. wall and floor joints as like pointing. Give special attention to the joints of floor traps all round.In this way if any leakage point exist fill with cement.
