Lift while calculating FAR?

 Topic: Lift while calculating FAR?
While calculating FAR, Lift comes under open area or covered area? I've heard it is considered as covered area only for 1 floor, rest of the floors it comes under open area.

kindly provide details on this

       In my view lift comes in the covered area.
