 Topic: Minimum rest/gap period
i started constructing the ground floor of my duplex on 24th oct. 2011. My construction pattern is 'confined Mansonary' (RCC 1:2:4) . The foundation work was completed on 20th nov. The brick work was finished (ratio 1:6)on 30th Nov.
 Now i want to know that how much 'rest period' should be given before lintel. my contractor wants to construct lintel on 15th Dec. and he wants to start the brick work for the second story on 1st Jan 2012. & the lintel of second story by 30th Jan 2012. Will this 'time gap' be correct /sufficient or not.?

Join date: Oct 2011		Hi Manish, 15 to 20 days is an appropriate time for lintel setting after the bricklaying process. However do get it cross checked from your contractor and if needed from an expert who can actually visit your site and examine. Also check for some construction manuals on internet which would provide you relevant information. Good luck !
