 Topic: Need help about painting and wall water proofing
Hi,

This forum has been a great help for me till now. I am here with another question.

My house is almost done with the plastering. I am about to head towards painting. I need suggestions on how to waterproof the exterior walls and the paint.

I searched internet and this forum, but did not find the right answer as different people are telling different options. The ones that I am considering at this moment are

1. Apply 2 coats birla wall care putty inside and 3 coats on exterior and the with tractor emulsion paint.
2. Apply Fixit water proofing rain coat over the 3 coat putty out side.

Please suggest me what to go for from above two or something which is completely different from above, which meets my requirement. I am planning for putty just to have decent finish and I am more worried about the water proofing as the brick used was of not good quality.

I have attached the house image for reference.Hope I can apply the proposed solution to the house which is 2nd coat done with plastering.

Any idea on the paining price for the house of 1050sft would be really appreciated.

Apart from the above does the rain roof will give me better results to protect the walls?
How much does this attached roofing around the house costs?

Join date: Apr 2013		Dear Vamsi: The exterior walls are treated with primer followed by putty and a good exterior grade paint. Similarly, the interior walls are treated with primer followed by putty and a final paint based on your budget.

Finish the Interior walls first with wall putty then with cement primer then 2 coats of emulsion paint.

 

Exterior wall finish with 2 coats weather proof exterior emulsion with necessary coat of cement primer. If required you can also apply a coat of white cement
