Polimer fibres in mortar

 Topic: Polimer fibres in mortar

Hi guys,

I have visited one construction site in a rainy terrain about a few months back. They were using polymer fibres in mortar. As per the site engineer, these polymer fibres induce elasticity in mortar and thereby reduces the possibility of formation of cracks. Can someone provide more info about this? What are the different additives available for crack prevention?

it minimize the crack formation

I am uploading the datasheets of two products from BASF for your reference.

similar products are available in Fosroc and other construction chemical manufactures.

screed - rehomix 141 can be used

readymix - rheofibre  can be used

Hi Girish,

Thanks for your reply on hollow core slabs, it was very helpful. Regarding those datasheets of polymer fibre products, I couldn't find any datasheet on the forum. I am relatively new to these forums, so can you guide me to those datasheets?

products i had referred are manufactured by BASF

equivalent products can also be looked with Fosroc
