RCC Foundation in a plot where sand is upto 15 feet deep

 Topic: RCC Foundation in a plot where sand is upto 15 feet deep
Dear all,
we are digging pits for foundation for house. all pits are 15 feet deep, but still dont see hard murum. only fine sand is all around. Actually the plot is near a river. do we need to dig it more depth. what kind of foundation do you suggest. House is having total 3 floors only. Plot is 30 x 60.

           For this type of situation do  not take risk. Get proper soil investigation and know the soil bearing capacity and after that take foundation design from structural engineer.

Dear Ms. Purvi: Pile foundation would definitely be of help in your case. However, in continuation of Gupta Ji's suggestion, it would do much good if a soil study is done in the area, followed by acquiring the foundation drawing by a competent and experienced structural engineer.
