 Topic: Stilt floor
I am planning to construct a Stilt+ 2 floors building for residence. One civil engineer says, it is not safe to have stilt floor without walls from earth quake protection point of view. Dimension is 46 ft x 34 ft. As per soil test we plan to have foundation at 6 ft depth.
Question: Is it true? If so, are there ways to make it good for earth quake?

Dear Parkash

              In my view it is not necessary to construct walls of stilt floor. If you have proper structural design after conducting the bearing capicity ofsoil  and at time of designing ask structural engineer that we want earth quake proof design than no need to worry about earth quake.Have proper structural design from reputated structural engineer.
