 Topic: Sunken toilet
Hi, we are constructing a ground floor house, in which we are going to do the DPC after plinth beam, my question is do we need to sunken the toilet slab as we are going to western commode...please tell me whether toilet to be sunken or raised above the floor level...which is gud???

            The sunken floor is needed when you have to provide Indian WC In case if you want to fix western WC than no need of sunken floor to be taken at roof level in slab.

Join date: Jul 2014		Check if the D.P.C is above ground level because if it is below ground line and filled with earth moisture will get passage through earth (mud) into wall. The purpose of D.P.C will not be solved you will get dampness in your walls even after providing D.P.C. 

Next
The sunken slab is needed where you face problem in installing the plumbing fittings usually on upper floors. On ground floor you have plenty of the space where you can install the fitting. so there is no need to provide sunken floor. Just have a level difference in finished floor of half an inch with adjoining room will provide water barrier.
