 Topic: foundation for pillar
i have started my construction in a 20(north south) x 50(east-west) ft plot. 10 pillars have been planned. the two pillars in front(east) for portico-- we havent got the rock surface for about 6-7 feet depth where as for the rest of 8 pillars we got the rocky surface at around 4feet. i want to know the next step------is the p.c.c layering to be done for a greater thickness or should i go deeper till i get a hard strata,,deeper means till how many feet. thanks in advance. drkksuresh

Dear Suresh

          If you have found hard strata at 4 feet than it is ok. proceed further for foundation as per design.
