 Topic: How long we should not remove the shuttering
I am currently constructing a house with RCC Roof Lanter area 3600 sqft.  I am done with almost everything , my only query is for how long we should not remove the shuttering of this RCC Roof Lanter, as some guys who came from Tata Steel said I should keep it for abt 21 days after pouring RCC mix on the lanter. Please advise . Awaiting your quick reply as I am planning for lanter this week itself.

Also it would be of great help if you can provide me your private  email, as I wish to send you site pics too for other clarifications.

         The following is the schedule for removing the shuttering from RCC slab.

Precautions for Cantilever slabs and Beams

  • While doing shuttering of a cantilever part, outer edge of shuttering is 1” to 2'' higher than inner edge with the wall.
  • The bracing of vertical supports for cantilever portion should be tied to vertical supports of internal slab.        
  • The concrete should be laid on cantilever portion very gently.
  • The shuttering should be removed after 28 days.

Recommended Period for Removal of Shuttering
