 Topic: pillar form work
Hello,

My contractor said that he can used steel shuttering or wooden planks to fill 9"by9" pillars/piers.  But he recommended wooden planks because the external of pillar will be rough in case he use wood planks and this rough facings of pillars will make better bonding with walls as compared to smooth and plain facings in case of steel shuttering.

What do you recommend?

            Use proper form work i.e. FRAMA of steel for filling the columns. In plank shuttering strength of concrete reduces. If you want rough surface than after removal of form work apply wire brush on the surface for giving rough surface.
