Is there any structural importance to sunshade?

 Topic: Is there any structural importance to sunshade?
I'm planning to avoid the sunshade (extension of lintel to outside) to save the construction cost for my house. So, is there any structural importance to sunshade and can I safely exclude it from my house plan? If yes, what are the low cost alternatives to protect windows from rain water and sun light?

Join date: May 2014		There is no structural importance as that is to save the windows/Doors from rainwater. You can use a big stone above the windows to reduce the cost. The extended lantel will give a good look for elevation and more terrace area as well. But here budget is an issue so use a traditional way.
