Join date: Mar 2008 | Dear Purvi Make cement concrete or brick partition all round the opening in the wall, the partition should be 3'' more high than the top of tile terracing to have safe gaurd against rainwater. Make 4 nos pillar about 2.5' or 3' high from roof and fix PVC or Aluminum glazing and top to be covered with polycarbonate sheet Dom or fiber sheet or ac sheets etc. The sheets at top should be 5'x5'.

Join date: Mar 2008 | Dear Purvi Both sheets are good choice is yours but sheet should be white, if colored sheet is fixed than it will give glaring light effect which does not suit on eyes. The side glazing may be kept openable for air circulation when needed.

I am from Pakistan. Since I am planning construction of house on my own plot at Islamabad, I have a confusion. I'll be thankful if you could reply me. Size of my plot is 25x60 and adjacent to it is a house without basement. As per law in such condition min. 5 ft is to be left for basement to safeguard the adjacent house. However if full basement has been constructed safely in violation, action can be forgiven. kindly tell me if RCC wall is constructed in parts in 5' each; or you may suggest any other safe way. I'll be highly obliged for your reply. Rehan. rehan383@yahoo.com | |

Join date: Mar 2008 | Dear Rahan For constructing basement safely some instructions are to be followed. 1. It depend upon the condition of the side house that the construction is not so old and wall towards your house is in good condition. 2. The soil of the area should not be sandy. 3. Do not make basement work in rainy season. 4. make arrangement of pump at site, if accidentally water come than can be drained off immediately. 5 As per structural planning you to construct RCC columns, Than make all the columns with the house wall which gives support to the wall. 6. Give extra supports to the wall as per site condition. 7. Then construction the rcc wall in pieces. 8.Collect the material in advance so that there will be no vibratory motion near the wall.
