Dear Sir,Can you please tell me the size of the column and footing for individual house with G 2 design. Soil type is Sandy Clay. Loads are general residential loads only.Size of Building = 85' x 19'Can we construct lateral direction of 19' with one span with 9"x12" size and longitudinal direction of 85' with a spacing of approx. 16' span with same column size 9"x12".Is it suitable?Please suggest.Regards,Venkat

           The design of R C C columns,  footing, beams and slab is designed according to load bear by them taking factor of safety from earth quack, bearing capacity of soil Span of column, length of beam etc in consideration. For G 2 stories it is better to take design from structural engineer. When you are spending billion of rupees than do not take risk for design to spent a nominal expenditure. design can save your money at long run and a tentative design we offenly  use more steel than require.

on Reading the plan the size of R C C Columns  9''x 12'' suggested by you are utmost unsafe.
