 Topic: SIZE of column and also foundation
Here i have to Constructed the GODOWN 160'X55' having metalic sheet truss roof. the Column span is max 16ft . there is no column at cemter. please what is the column size and also reinforcement required. Also what is the foundation sizze required....



Here my contractor given 9"X15" cloumn size and also 4mo's 16 dia +4 no's 12dia reinforcement for column. foundation 4'X5'

          The size of column and MS Steel bars and foundation is design with bearing capacity of soil and loading condition. It is better if you have proper design from structural engineer. However on reading the size of column and steel bars seem to be on lesser side. The minimum size of column should be 12''x15'' or 12''x18'' with 4nos 2omm and 4nos 16 mm dia bars with cement concrete mix 1;1.5;3 i.e M20.
