Hi: Alternatives to conventional cement plaster: for interior walls - gypsum plaster; for ceiling - POP, gypsum board, PVC panelling etc. Tiles can be put on walls but that would again be a sand-cement-water activity. I hope it helps.

Dear Abhishek & Navneet- Thanx for your prompt answers.

I agree that tiles will again be sand-cement-water activity but I still think they will be the best and least fussy options compared to cement plastering considering the plastering process and it's curing time. Tiles will also save future painting of the walls.

Can wall tiles be pasted directly on the bare brick walls or still need that cement-bajarpur base?

Thanx
Rajesh

Dear Rajesh
Base coat of cement coarse sand in 1;3 ratio is needed on the wall under tiles, it gives maximum strength to tile. See link below

Dear Rajesh,

All the above alternatives works and gives finishing, but before applying any of these, you will just have to make it sure that walls or RCC roof are not having any types of leakages or hairline cracks, which may lead to bad results or may damage POP, Gypsum board, falls ceilings,  etc. In case of leakages or cracks it becomes very much compulsory to do Plastering.

Sincere Regards
Ravi

Dear Sir,
If you do not want gypsum plaster or false ceiling. Than
Beside curing of plaster, for doing plaster you should  protect the furniture from plaster mortar dropping at the time of applying plaster on roof ceiling. To protect that you should cover the furniture with polythene  etc. Now for curing you should adopt the curing method by 4'' or 6'' painting brush and apply water with brush like paint but this will be expensive but save your furniture.
