Topic: Column

Which material is used in column in residence puja room ?
and I also want to ask how much diameter of column if span is 10 feet 6 inch and hieght is 9 feet 6 inch ?

S L Gupta (Civil Engg) Join date: Mar 2008	Dear Simaran There is no any idea about the house plan and If length or span is 10'-6'' than there is no need of column.If you want to construct column than take the size 9''x 9''. if circular column than take diameter 6'' or 9''.

simran Join date: Dec 2011	Post subject: basic information about column material POP dome will rest on the top of that 2 pillars so what would be the material for the pillars. Pillars should be so strong that they could handle the weight of that dome. dome will be like as false ceiling. span of 2 pillars will be 10'6"

S L Gupta (Civil Engg) Join date: Mar 2008	Dear Simiran For pillar the easy way is take AC pipe or MS steel pipe 4'' or 6'' diameter and fill these pipe with cement concrete than these pipes are able to take the load.
