 Topic: cantiliver beam
can i construct a 6 inch wall in a cantiliver beam of 4feet 6 inch....the buliding is four storey....can the cantiliver beam in the first floor take all the load of the wall create on the second and third and fourth cantiliver beam...

Join date: May 2015		Yes you can  construct a 6 inch wall in a cantilever beam of 4feet 6 inch if structure design of cantilever with consideration of wall on end.
No (cantilever beam in the first floor take all the load of the wall create on the second and third and fourth) for each floor separate beam required otherwise its need very heavy beam and risk for overturning. Need very specialized design.

Join date: May 2014		You can construct a wall of up to 1 floor level only of 6" but for more than that you need an extra beam to divide the load.

Typically it extends from a flat vertical surface such as a wall, to which it must be firmly attached. Like other structural elements, a cantilever can be formed as a beam, plate, truss, or slab.
