Help regaring foundation

Dear sir.our land is stroing land.and my architect has given the foundation of 5 feet from ground level.is it necessary to dig 5 feet.we dig the land 3 feet to make the land plain and also dig 2 feet for the foundation.now the soil is rock hard.is i necessary to dig more.am ataching the foundation det below.
