strong glass to replace grills

hello all,i have a window 6ftx10ft, whose view i do not want to ruin by using an iron grill. I was thinking of putting a strong glass and avoiding grills so that view remains clear and security is also not compromised. The only benefit tempered glass appears to offer is less injury in case of shattering, but it does not appear to be tough enough!Is there any glass which suits my requirement..?Look.

mortar thickness in brick joints in foundation

Dear all, I have used old bricks in the foundations of my house. As of now, the DPC at road and floor levels have been laid and river-sand filling is in progress. On my last visit, i noticed that the mortar thickness used in joints of the bricks was more than the recommended 1cm (upto 3cm at some places).  i wanted to inquire what impact would this thickness have on my house and what could be done.
