Need to strengthen brick wall and brick pillar house

Hi Experts,I live in a 2 storey house built by earlier owner of the house. Its around 600 sq in ground floor and rectangular in shape.It does not have concrete columns. There are brick pillars.I want to strengthen the house.Can I add concrete pillars, may be on the 4 corners or somewhere only inside the ground floor supporting the first floor?Any help and guideline would be highly appreciated..
