| The recommended method of fixing insulating building boards is following: |
| The boards are applied with lengths perpendicular to all joints. |
| The boards may be spaced 3 to 6 mm for covered joints. |
| The sheets shall be butt laid with their edges abutting with moderate contact for exposed joints. |
| With the help of timber pieces the boards are supported and held tight to the ground. |
| The boards are first nailed from center of the board outwards. |
| The edges of the boards are nailed in the last. |
| The outer rows of the nails are placed at 10cm centers and about 12mm from the edge of the sheet where the joints are left exposed. |
| The nails are placed 20 cm apart in the rows in the middle of the sheets. |
| Felt headed nails are used instead of lost head nails where the joints are covered with beadings. |
| The nails are placed at 20cm centers in each row where the outer rows at edges to be covered by beadings. |
| Then the beadings are fixed with screws over the sheet at 20cm centers in each row. |
| The spacing of fixing in each row is at 10cm centers so far as the sheets and frames are concerned. |
