| The following fields are used to get more strength with same quantity of cement. |
| Less surface area of aggregate: |
Cement can provide better coating to particle and more strength when coarse aggregate is used. |
When proper graded material is used, lesser the voids in concrete are, more the strength and tightness of the water will be. |
| Quality of material: |
Quality of cement, sand and aggregate should be taken by various tests of fields because their qualities bear the strength. |
| Less Water Requirement: |
Surface area of the aggregate being low, water requirements for lubrication of particle will be less. |
Hence less shrinkage and more strength may be obtained using the same amount of cement because of low water cement ratio. |
| Mixing: |
Mixing should be done in a mixer operated by diesel so that all constituents are thoroughly mixed and become homogeneous mars without showing segregation. |
Compaction with vibrator less water is adequate in concrete to achieve same workability which results in more strength because of less water, cement ratio. |
Better compaction is achieved leading to less number of voids. |
| Curing: |
Cement needs water for its hydration. |
If water is inadequate, it will not hydrate completely.
Therefore water is not balanced properly which leads to inadequate strength. |
So all cares should be taken for curing cement concrete properly. |
