Outdoor Lighting

Outdoor lighting is essential to light up paths and walkways, outdoor areas, driveways, pools or other areas.

It is used to prohibit trespassers by keeping exterior of the house well illuminated and provides safety to you, your family and guests. The lighting enhances the beauty of your favorite shrubs or plants, highlights statuary and sets a mood. It can showcase a tree or an ornamental fence and can significantly improve the style quotient of a home.

Solar Powered Outdoor Lighting

Solar lights do not need any external power source except the sun and provide the most flexibility where it is often difficult to implement wiring. Solar lighting fixtures need regular exposure to the sun for proper operation, so avoid placing them under any shaded area.

Motion-Sensor Outdoor Lighting

This lighting is excellent for the front of the house and is activated when a human or animal comes within the range of the sensor. It is effectively used to warn trespassers and provides you safety in case you reach home after sunset. Most lighting fixtures have an adjustable motion sensor which is used to regulate both sensitivity and direction of the sensor, which allow you to minimize unnecessary movements of stray animals in your yards.

Floodlights and Spotlights

Floodlights create a strong, focused beam of light and is well-suited for showcasing a particular area like a tree whereas spotlights produce a narrower, more focused beam. Flood lighting is generally used to light up facades, outdoor areas or particular features in homes and gardens such as sculptures.

Low-Voltage Outdoor Lighting
This exterior lighting fixture usually gets its power through a wire that runs to a transformer plugged into an electric socket. This lighting is ideal for underneath seating and handrails to create adequate light for safety and maintain a soft glow, almost supernatural ambiance.

High-Voltage Outdoor Lighting

This exterior lighting is the most dangerous to do work with, so it requires a separate circuit for electrical system. For installation of high-voltage exterior lighting, you must hire a qualified electrician as you do not know technical details to handle high voltage electricity.

Decorative Outdoor Lighting

This lighting is used as patio and deck light strings having some themes like fish, dogs, boats etc. Some people may consider this lighting unnecessary but the lighting can be ideal for an auspicious occasion like birthday party or any particular occasion based on a particular theme. String lighting is available in a variety of colored globe lights, lanterns and extra stylish themes.

Installation Methods

Wall-mounted lights are fixed directly to the wall of your house, or your fence, porch or other structure.
Ground lights are positioned directly on the ground.
Hanging lights can be hung from a pole or tree limb. Lanterns are often placed like hanging lights.
Post lamps are attached to the poles or fixtures fixed in the ground.
Ceiling light fixtures can be installed into the ceiling of your patio or exhibition area.
