Landscaping for a small space can be tricky and imaginative; you don’t have lot of place to do all the things you want so you have to be selective about the plants, trees and décor. Garden can be created and enjoyed in any space whether it is small space and large space. Decorating a small landscaping can be a big challenge for you. The lack of space can limit your imagination; but still there are few things which can make your yard unique.
Small garden demands plant selection on the basis of garden size. Different Colors, shapes and size of plants can be used to create an illusion of more space as well as to add beauty to your garden. Try to use two or three colors; you can also get more impact in your garden if you use one color in your garden.
Keeping plants in proportion is also important. However, a misconception is that use small plants in small garden. You can plant big tree in a small and make it center piece by growing small plants around it. Repetition of few plants can also give illusion of large space. In small spaces hide the boundaries of small space with plants. Careful placements of plants break up the boundaries. Curved elements are another way to remove the boundaries and make things look larger than they are. Lines that can not be easily followed also create the illusion of height and longer lines than straight lines. Circles also appear longer than straight lines and thin lines.
Adding containers in small spaces: Use plant containers if you do not have enough space. Choose plant containers carefully that goes well with the theme of garden. Choose containers of normal size, too big containers can look odd in small space. Pay attention to the size, color and design of plant container. You can also use hanging containers and baskets, which is a great way to decorate your yard.
Adding window box is another way to decorate a small space. You can place window box on the wall and place them in window. Window boxes are come in various sizes, colors and designs. Choose annual flower plants for window box; pick a plant that do not grow quickly so that it would not out grow the space.
Small space landscaping can be more difficult to design than larger one but your possibilities are not limited. Your imagination can help you to make it look bigger than it has.
