Fly Ash Bricks - Light weight Bricks

FLY ASH BRICKS

Ash bricks are made of:

  • Fly ash, coarse sand, lime and gypsum

COMPOSITION:

1.Fly ash-55-60%

2.Coarse Sand-30-40%

3.Lime-10-15%

4.Gypsum-5%

PRICE- Rs3.60/brick.

  • Size 230x110x75mm
  • Ash content up to 60%
  • Conforming to IS 12894
  • 10% lighter in weight than conventional clay bricks
  • Compressive strength more than 100 kg /sq.cm.
  • More durable as strength increases with passage of time
  • Water absorption within permissible limits
  • Less mortar consumption in masonry

First class brick have minimum crushing strength 105kg per square centimeter but fly ash brick have less crushing strength.

Your consideration for fly ash bricks is justified and fly ash bricks are no doubt better than traditional bricks.


Fly ash bricks have following benefits:



  1. They are more durable.

  2. Absorb less water.

  3. Ecofriendly.

  4. Low energy consumption.

  5. No emission of green house gases.

Only thing is that they are costlier than the normal brick.


So if u r ready to shed an extra penny than surely you can go for fly ash bricks.

can this fly ash bricks be used for constructing house without compromising with the strength of the house.
