What do colors represent? How do they enhance the look of the room? | | | | Different colors represent different things which are following: White : White (and its various forms such as off-white, beige, and eggshell) is popular and an all time favorite choice. It can be boring and too plain sometimes, but it also doesnt distract. It also makes a room look brighter and bigger. Its great for just about any room, especially bathrooms and kitchens.
Red : Red suggests life and energy. It can be unbearable for an entire room, but it is unique choice for your bedroom if you want to express romantic feelings. Deep and fine shades of red such as reddish-purple and maroon are perfect for living rooms. At its worst, red is too dramatic. Yellow : It creates exciting feelings, sunny and cheerful mood. Yellow is associated with intelligence, power and creative energy. Bright yellow brings warmth and light into dark rooms, and pale yellows make small rooms seem larger. Its also a great kitchen color. At its worst, yellow is: disturbing. Blue: Blue denotes peace and loyalty. Its appropriate for any room including bedroom because it makes one feel calm and relaxed. It can also soften rooms that are over-bright. At its worst, blue is cold. Orange : Orange couples the energy of red with the intellectual links of yellow. Dominant and energetic, its a funny choice for bathrooms and work areas. Peachy orange has a delicate effect; while brownish orange (like terra cotta) gives off warm, cozy atmosphere. Many living rooms are orange giving "den" feeling. At it’s worst, orange is: non-relaxing. Green : Green is refreshing and pleasing to the eye. It makes dim areas seem more vibrant by bringing a garden-like atmosphere. With its varying shades, green works in just about any room. Just be sure not to go for too dark green. At it’s worst, green is dull.
Violet : Violet, strong and glorious, is a powerful color. Pastel violets take on the characteristics of red or blue depending on which is more outstanding in the shade. At its worst, violet is strong. Black : Black is associated with darkness. Don’t paint a room black. Itll freak people out. Black walls also tend to look dirty because dust shows up very clearly. At its worst, black is too dark. Deep "warm" colors like red-violet, red, red-orange, orange, yellow-orange, and yellow give a room an intimate and cozy feeling. Light "cool" colors like green, blue-green, blue, and blue- violet. White makes a room seem larger and elegant.
