Fabricate window grilles properly
Safety grilles should be fabricated according to the size and space left in windows, ventilators and other openings. Utilize standard size MS steel flat or steel bars according to design requirement from rolling mills. During fabrication actual required length of each member of window grille should be cut by cutter not by chisel.

Make proper holes in security grilles
Counter sunk holes should be drilled in the side member of grilles before doing welding.
The holes should be drilled instead of punching them. Check that the corners of grilles should be at right angle. All members of grilles should be
in straight line horizontally and vertically.
Do good quality welding for security grilles
The corner should be welded using flash butt welding or metal arc welding. The welding should not be done by touch welding but it should be in full length. All joints should be finished with grinder. No cavity holes to be left in welding. The grilles should be welded properly with window frames in iron windows.
Fix security grilles properly using steel screws
The grilles should be fixed with the help of steel screws in wooden or aluminum frames. The top of screws should be counter sunk carefully without leaving it outside the grilles. The screws should be driven using screw driver instead of hammer. In case of steel/ iron window, the grilles should be properly welded to the frame of window at 9 inch interval.
Utilize good materials in security grilles
The materials used in grilles should be free from cracks, surface flows, rough and imperfect edges. It should be free from rust, scaling and pitting. It should be made from mild steel, flat, square bars or round bars.
Do priming coat in advance
Priming coat should be done before fixing home security grilles.
Caution for Installation
The space between two horizontal MS rods or MS flats provided in security grilles should not be more than 3 to 4 inches so that grilles can not be cut easily by hacksaw. If the space is more, the intruders can make thefts on some valuable articles using trained monkeys.
