Rose Garden "Lighting"
Palace of Assembly - Construction

The Assembly Hall is made in a hyperbolic shell with an average thickness of 15 cm, which is constant throughout its surface, resulting in a very low cost and a minimum of weight.
This shell does not terminate in a horizontal but in an oblique section which shall receive a metallic framework i.e. aluminum. This framework will become a veritable physical laboratory destined to ensure the interplay of natural lighting, artificial lighting, ventilation and acoustic-electronic mechanisms.
Rock garden was started in 1958 by a roads inspector for Chandigarh’s Engineering Department, Mr Nek Chand. It consist of stills made up of scraps and other types of waste materials such as bottles, woods, glasses, plastic, tiles, electric wastes etc.

The most important and unique feature of Rock Garden is that there are thousands of animals and still figures, which stand in a row as a static crowd. The series of rock structures, walk ways and waterfalls made up of urban and industrial waste make rock an exceptional place in Chandigarh.
Here all the information about the rock garden is displayed on rocks with the help of recycled materials.
