Carpet Cleaning Tips

• Vacuum your carpet regularly as regular vacuuming protects your carpet from dust and dirt when there is a lot of traffic on the carpet.  
• Remove stains as soon as possible; if the stain stays for a long time, it will be difficult to clean it as it will become tougher. 
• Use door mats at the entrance to reduce dust or dirt’s entry to the home.
• Before you apply any acid cleaner to clean a carpet stain; always test a part of your carpet as some carpets are very sensitive to acid cleaners and lose their colors quickly. 
• Always use mild spotters first because harsh spotting agents may be harmful to your soft carpets. 
• Avoid overuse of detergents or shampoos. Sometimes the residue of detergent sticks to the carpet.   
• Clean your carpet once in every 3-4 months thoroughly if there is a lot of wear and tear in your home. If there are a few visitors, you can clean the carpet once in every six months and if your carpet is placed in a low traffic area such as bedroom, you can clean the carpet after 12 or 18 months.    
• Steam cleaning is another good method for getting everlasting cleanliness of carpet. Don’t wet your carpet too much when you opt for steam cleaning. Make sure you brush your carpet first before starting the steaming process.

•  Never use hair dryer or iron if you want to apply dry cleaning on the carpet since they leave spot on your carpet or rug forever.
• Go to a professional cleaner if your carpet is extremely dirty.
