What is the application of POP? | | | | Application of plaster of Paris is following.
- SCAFFOLDING
- GAUGES(MEASURE)
- FINISHING
- CURING
- Scaffolding: The supports of the scaffolding should be sound and strong. It should be tied together with horizontal pieces.
- Gauges (Measure): To prepare a true surface and even thickness, plaster about 15 X 15 cm should be applied. Then the mortar should be laid on the wall between the gauges with trowel. The surface should be finished with trowel or wooden float. Excessive troweling should be avoided. All corners, edges, angles and junctions should be truly vertical and horizontal. Patches should not be on any portion of the surface.
- Finish: The plaster should give a smooth finish. All horizontal lines should be tested with a level. All jambs and corners should be tested with a plumb bob.
- Curing: Curing should be started after 24 hours of finishing the plaster. Plaster should be kept wet for a period of 7 days.
