People have been burning wooden logs for cooking food in the houses. Burning the logs or coal creates a lot of smoke that is unhygienic. Using LPG for cooking food also generates smoke when some fried article is prepared in the kitchen.

Smoke causes several diseases which affect the life of the occupants of the house and bad odor of the toilets creates health problems such as respiratory or asthmatic diseases and Allergy etc.

To avoid the effects of smoke, you must take the following care.
  • Install exhaust fans in the kitchen and the toilet.
  • Provide chimney in the kitchen and it is most useful during electricity-cuts.
  • Provide proper windows in the kitchen and toilets to intake the fresh air and light.
