What are various types of wooden flooring? | | | | There are two types of wooden flooring:
- Wooden Boards flooring
- Wooden Block flooring
- WOODEN BOARDS FLOORING: This is also known as wood strip flooring. It is expensive. It is used where wear on the surface is light, as in houses, public buildings, offices and schools. The wooden flooring is usually laid towards the end of building operations.25 mm wooden planking, tongued and grooved flooring including fixing with iron screws complete with :
- Second class teak wood
- First class deodar wood, or
- Second class deodar wood.
- WOOD BLOCK FLOORING: The timber used for making the blocks should be thoroughly seasoned. It should have good resistance to wear. The timber should be free from decay and fungal growth. The blocks can be laid in basket weave pattern, brick pattern and herringbone pattern.
