Dear Mr.Reddi,

This is in reference to the Water Proofing for the  Roof Garden on the Terrace Slab. The Precautions to be undertaken are as follows:

1. The Terrace treatment has to be undertaken by using Construction Chemicals.

2.The area where Roof garden is laid , Polymer based Water Proof Treatment has to be undertaken.

3. If proper treatment is done the existing slab is free of leakages and the slab is Watertight. The house will be Safe.

Hey Qakreddi,

At the time of laying RCC slab for roof on which you want to make a trace lawn, the following precautions should be taken.
1. The roof slab should have slope towards rainwater pipe.
2. Water proofing compound should be used on top of RCC slab.
3. Rich mix of cement concrete not less than 1:1.5:3 should be used in RCC slab.
4. The top of RCC slab at the time of lying should be well finished with cement slurry and water proofing compound.
5. Proper curing must be done for at least 28 days.
6. Joints of roof slab with parapet should be protected with cement concrete ‘gola’ to prevent leakage from the joints.
7. Stone flooring which has negligible joint should be laid on the top of roof to avoid any leakage.
8. Proper bitumen painting and tar felt /polythene treatment should be given on roof slab under the stone flooring.
9. Proper grating should be fixed on rain water pipe to avoid any blockage.
