concrete beam

hi friendsI am confused about the concrete beams and columnsI am going to put columns on my plan which i designed1. is it true that wherever we have a staircase we have two beams parallel to it?2. if I have two 300*300  columns what is the maximum span between the twoand what about the 150*200 columns?thx alot.
