NEW TERRACE HAIRLINE CRACKS IN MORTAR

Have relaid the top layer of our terrace floor with a cemnt sand mix of 1:4 alongwith waterproof compounds.Curing was doen by waterfilling for 10days.I now find that the top layer has hairline cracks in many places.My contractor it is normal and now nothing can be done and there will be no issues.I am worried that these cracks will widen with time and also there will be leakages.Can the same be fi.
