Hi. I am constructing the first floor of my house. I will be laying floor in the next few days. The usual practice is to first install a layer of of broken bricks (rodi) before putting on tiles or marble. Because it is the first floor so already have concrete slab ( that is roof) on which floor has to be laid on, I am not able to understand the purpose of putting a layer of 'rodi'. Won't it add on.
