Safety Tips For Stairs

As we all know safety is prime concern for us everywhere. Even when we are at home, there may be accidents while going up or down the stairs. A little carelessness will lead to serious injuries. Here are given tips to avoid accidents at home.  

  • Make proper arrangement of lights around stairs to illuminate all the way. Put a light switch on the top or even at the bottom of stairs.

  •  Stairs should be in good condition. These should not be slippery and the surface of stairs should not be raised.
  • The steps of stairs should be of same length and width in size otherwise it would lead to accidents. 
  • Always keep stairs clutter-free.
  • It is better to have a gate at the top or at the bottom of stairs for safety reasons.

  • Always use handrails while moving up and down the stairs. Make sure that handrails are easy to see at day or night time.

  • Never place rugs or carpets near stairs to avoid fall from stairs.
  • Lock the gate of stairs when not in use.
  •  You can also install wireless alarm on stairs. It will alert you when any one moves towards the stairs.
