I am constructing a house in Dharamsala ( place having second highest rain falll in India). My question is: Does plinth beam work as a DPC ? or I have go for separate DPC barrier? |

Plinth beam act as DPC but it is always better to have bitumen coating over top surface of plinth beam | | |

Yes it is right that plinth beam with bitumen coating is better option that of DPC. Care should be taken some mason not laid floor at that level and put masonry on plinth beam and raise the floor level, check the level of plinth beam and floor is same.
