You should do Thrmal insulation of your up stair room.If there is space in east and south of your room, you should construct verandha or made temporary arrangement as like shed of sheets etc to protect the walls from direct heat from the sun. many thanks for your advice. I will certainly follow the link. My experience so far is that rooms upstairs are just like an oven. I have put a 2 Tonne split but of no use. In my books it is waste of time and money to build upstair floor.

I hope with your advice we may avoid this uncomfortable situation.
