Crawler crane is a kind of construction crane with crawler belt, which is widely used in engineer construction. Having larger touch area with ground, the crawler belt has good traffic ability and can travel in any rough terrains. In addition to lifting work, the crane with crawler belt can also be used in digging, piling and other construction applications.
Generally, the crane machine consists of working device, engine, chassis system and so on. The boom length can be adjusted to suit the construction conditions. The chassis consists of crawler frame, driving wheel, pulley and crawler wheels. To protect the operator and the crane, some operating techniques should be kept in mind. The crane should be parked in hard and flat ground. When working, the crane should not be positioned in the slope with gradient more than 3°. Make a safe distance with trench or ditch.
The daily check should include the following items. The protective devices and meters should work normally. The wire rope and connecting points should be as specified. The fuel oil, lubricant, hydraulic oil and coolant should be fully added. When the crawler crane travels with loads, the loads should not exceed 70% of the specified. The loads should be in the front of the crane and the distance between the ground should not more than 500 mm. The crawler belt should be regularly checked and cleaned to avoid damages. The crane should work in the hard and level ground, otherwise, related pad should be added to improve the cranes bearing capacity.
