My quest for False ceiling designs for Living Room started by surfing thousands of POP False ceiling design photos available online but I was not happy with those ideas.
So here is how I started completing False ceiling designs for Living room…
POP False Ceiling designs ( Plaster of Paris)
I had initially made up my mind that I would go with POP False Ceiling design that are mostly used now days. False ceiling using Gypsum Board sheet are also used but primarily in the offices and POP (Plaster of Paris) False ceiling using Gypsum board is done with a plane board sheet of POP and is used in show rooms and offices.
First Question: Do I want Cove design on the ceiling. I always liked the Cove designs in ceiling as they would give hidden lights and I would be able to create different moods by just turning on the lights in the Cove. In the picture below you see the lights are coming out of the Coves

I really loved the wood in ceiling but was not sure
A lot of my friends had suggested that I use wooden blocks in ceiling but I was not sure whether the wood blocks in ceiling will have long life or not. Feel free to share with us your experience so our other friends will benefit from it. Many friends also told me that it is really hard to maintain coves in the ceiling but I really loved the hidden light effect so decided to go ahead with the design. In India, other materials are not yet that popular in ceiling. May be we have a lot of dust and humidity in the air so I preferred to stick with the conventioanl ceiling designs and used P.O.P only

Colors of Light StripsWell, another thing you will have to keep in mind is the color of lights in the Cove.
I went for blue colour lights as I really liked the blue shade but you can very well go with yellow which is probably the second most selling. We had implemented the Tube light but now a days LED strips can be implemented in the coves. LED lights are sleek but they do not really have much of the glow. May be the new models that are coming are effective but we went with the traditional lighting. Another advantage of LED lighting is that the cove size could be reduced to even 3 inches if you plan to use LED. Other wise if you wish to use tube lights you will need bigger coves.
So here we are, I think you can have the color combination as you please but good False Ceiling Designs for living room can do wonders to the interior of a place
